David Lloyd: Partner
David Lloyd has worked for H. Vaughan Vaughan & Company since he qualified in April 1975. He became a Partner in 1980 and Senior Partner in 1997. In July 2010, he became a Sole Practitioner when Conal Dunn became a Consultant. The firm is once again a Partnership with Anthony Mears becoming a Partner in July 2016.
He studied law at The College of Law Guildford.
He specialises in Conveyancing, Wills, Probate/Administration and private client work. He sees clients at our main office at Builth Wells and (usually by appointment) at our sub-offices at Rhayader and Llanwrtyd Wells. He also does home visits.
His current workload includes: Wills, Probate, Conveyancing, Auctions, Tenancy Agreements, land exchange, boundary/neighbour disputes, tax matters and private client work generally.
Anthony Mears: Partner
Anthony Mears joined H Vaughan Vaughan & Company in July 2015 and became a Partner in July 2016. He studied law at the University of South Wales and has worked in a number of local legal firms. Anthony was a local farmer until 2012 when he decided to pursue a career in law. He also has a degree in History from Oxford University.
He specialises in Agricultural Law, Conveyancing (residential and commercial), Auctions, land disputes and adverse possession of land.
Anthony still enjoys tending to his small flock of sheep in his spare time and has two young children which keep him busy outside the office.
Conal Dunn: Consultant
Conal Dunnqualified in 1984 beginning his legal career in Worcestershire but has lived and worked in Builth Wells since 1989. In 1996 his law firm merged with Mr Lloyd's. He has been an independent consultant since July 2010.
He has a wide experience of most areas of law covered by solicitors but latterly has concentrated on providing legal services to elderly clients; wills, trusts, tax administration of deceased personal estates, LPA and Court of Protection Work. He also concentrates on property law, residential and commercial. He has acted successfully for local property developers of barn conversions, housing estates and leasehold flats.
He was a director and the company secretary of Brecon Jazz when it was the UKs pre-eminent jazz festival during the 1990s.
He has two grown-up children.
Conal's main interests outside the office are music and theatre.
